In collaboration with a community group focused on promoting local foods, students planned and presented the “Fantastic Food Frenzy” – a free public supper event featuring food grown and prepared by students from several western Maine educational gardens, including ours. This event was held at our school on September 17, 2010, and in addition to the great food, we also had live music performed by students and displays from the six other garden groups that we partnered with. On the morning of the event, we took a tour of each others gardens, and in the afternoon, we worked with other volunteers to cook and serve the meal. We served about 120 people and got very positive feedback from our guests.
